HOW DO I ANALYZE THE FRANCHISE DISCLOSURE DOCUMENT?

It's a hard thing to do. you can certainly study franchising, franchise documents. There's a lot of information that is available to you, but it always comes down to the subtleties that are involved in the franchise documents, and i think it takes somebody skilled, particularly an attorney who has seen and understands and is reading between the lines of that document, to explain what's really there. But it's so important that you understand, because potentially down the road a judge can say, "well, you agreed. You signed here," so you need to understand what's in those documents. There's too much money, too much at risk not to. it's so important that i've offered a couple of webinars that are available on this website, including a buyers' guide to franchising and understand your fdd, and i think the material in there will go a long way to helping you understand your fdd.
